Rewards4 are a rewards and loyalty operator working in sport since 2008. Jonas Sports are the complete sports enterprise solution, providing a number of services to sports clubs, including retail.

Challenge

Lancashire Cricket wanted to reward their loyal fans by providing them with an opportunity to save money on their Lancashire Cricket merchandise during the current economic climate and cost of living challenges.

Solution

Lancashire Cricket integrated their merchandising platforms with Rewards4 – the UK’s largest operator of sports-based rewards programmes. The award-winning platform allows fans to collect points and save money on purchases with the club. Over 16,000 Lancashire supporters have already signed up to the programme and are making great savings.

There are a whole host of ways for supporters to collect points and build up their points balance just for being a Lancashire Cricket fan. These opportunities include engaging with the club’s marketing channels, purchasing club merchandise and collecting points with over 4,000 retailers on the rewards programme through online shopping. These points can then be used to:

• SAVE money when purchasing Lancashire Cricket merchandise from the club shop and;
• WIN exclusive prizes and experiences such as access and tickets to major events, signed merchandise, memberships, hospitality and much more.

Lancashire Cricket Rewards members have collected 2 million points since programme launched and have spent 866,000 points to save money.

All of this helps retention, reactivation and increases the customer lifetime value. It’s impossible to make a fan ‘more loyal’ but their loyalty can be recognised and rewarded. There are also benefits to the club as rewarding your fans increases their spend. The data collected also provides valuable insight (such as planning sponsorship activity).

How it works

The Rewards4 platform and currency engages with your fans through meaningful rewards and savings that will drive new revenue for you and your partners. The platform provides clubs with other significant benefits such as the ability to:

  1. deepen fans’ engagement with your loyalty proposition;
  2. collect more data on your fans (and monetise that data);
  3. drive additional ticketing, membership and merchandise sales;
  4. use the programme and the ‘currency’ to help your partners and sponsors leverage their sponsorships and connect directly with the fans.

Your fans
Fans can collect and spend their points within the Rewards4 platform. From their everyday spending with thousands of brands or retailers to visiting the official website, streaming fixtures or engaging with the club’s social media channels and digital newsletters, there are a whole host of ways fans can collect points.

The main benefit to collecting points is that the fan can use those points to make a saving on their next purchase with Lancashire Cricket. Through integration between Rewards4 and Jonas Sports Retail, these points can then be seamlessly spent at checkout (both full or part pay) to make a saving on club merchandise.
