Barnsley wanted to raise money for their charity arm, Reds in the Community, which uses the reach of the football club as a force for good, providing inspiring, inclusive programmes which raise aspirations and support our community through positive change.
With a simple integration from the Jonas Sports Retail system, Barnsley were able to quickly turn on charity micro-donations.
Pennies is the digital version of the old collection tin. Fans are able to easily donate to the clubs chosen charities or foundation in a way that doesn’t interrupt the purchasing journey and can be used both online and in-store. Reporting is integrated into the Jonas Sports Retail solution so finance departments can see the difference between sales and donations.
Every penny given will go to charity, with 90% going to Reds in the Community and 10% to Pennies who use the funds to grow the micro-donation movement and operate the ‘digital charity box’.
